Who we are
This website is published by the operator of Gas & Diesel Engine Equipment Guide, reachable through the contact page. In this policy, “we” means the website’s publisher.
Information you give us
- Newsletter sign-up. If you enter your email address in a newsletter form, it is stored in this website’s database so that we can send you occasional emails about new and updated guides. We do not sell, rent or share subscriber lists. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the link in any email we send or by contacting us, and we will delete your address.
- Contact form. If you send a message, the name, email address and message you enter are stored in this website’s database and emailed to our editorial inbox so that we can reply. We keep messages only as long as needed to deal with them.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site records standard technical information about each request, such as the IP address, browser type, pages requested and time. Our hosting provider keeps these logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Spam protection. To limit abuse, our forms temporarily count submissions from an IP address for about an hour. The count is discarded automatically.
- Cookies. This site sets cookies only for people who log in or leave a comment. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy.
- Browser storage. Our Service Log tool saves the entries you type into your own browser’s local storage so they are there when you come back. That data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Analytics and advertising
At the time of writing, this site does not run analytics scripts, advertising networks or social media tracking. If we add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in future, this policy will be updated to say so.
Links to other websites
Our articles link to other sites, including Amazon through affiliate links. When you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies. Amazon may set cookies to record that you arrived from this site, which is how affiliate commissions are tracked. See our affiliate disclosure.
How we protect information
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to the administration area is restricted and protected, and we keep the software up to date. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we hold as little personal information as possible so that there is little to lose.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California and other places have specific legal rights to this information, and we honor those requests regardless of where you live.
